Gloria Camarillo Vasquez

Founder & President

Gloria Camariillo-Vasquez, a descendant of Guachichil Chichimeca from Zacatecas is a spiritual guide who treasures her tribal heritage. Gloria and her family were part of the effort to establish the Tap Pilam Coahuiltecan Nation and its nonprofit agency the American Indians of Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions, which is run by her son, Ramon Vasquez. She is the founder of Circulo de Chispas and recruited a board to help establish it as a non-profit organization in 2024.

 

She has served as an ambassador teacher to visiting students from various parts of the United States interested in indigenous history and practices. She also served as an in-house residence healer at Stanford University. Gloria believes that public prayer can bring people together in a spirit of peace and ultimately public prayer has the potential to strengthen relationships and create a more inclusive, compassionate society. Gloria firmly believes in passing her blessings forward and continues to do so on a daily basis.

 

Gloria is a graduate of Marquette University and retired as a federal officer from the United States Department of the Treasury with the highest career service award, the Albert Gallatin Award, which is given to employees who have served at least 20 years and have shown loyalty to their duties.
